Million to One: Trivia Free-For-All Guide: Where to Play, How to Play, and What You Need to Play

What is Million to One?

A quick-hitting trivia show designed to bring the world of Twitch together each night.

Million to One is an elimination-style game show, where Twitch communities compete as a team with their favorite streamer at the helm with real prizes on the line. Think HQTrivia meets Twitch.

The best part: every trivia question is answered by the collective community using an extension. Get the question right, you go to the next round. Answer it wrong, and you get eliminated.

Every night, the top scorer wins in each competitive group: Partners, Affiliates, and Individuals. Want to learn more? Check out the rules here!

How Can I Compete?

Competing as a Partner or Affiliate Twitch Streamer

If you are a Partner or Affiliate Twitch streamer, you and your viewers can play together as a team on your channel! You will need to install the extension and set it as overlay in order to play. Without the extension, you and your community can't enter answers for questions. More on that later. You must be over the agree to the rules, agree to the terms of service, be over the age of 18 and located in the United States to compete. You can also run the extension non-competitively if you just want to see how you perform!

You need to do the onboarding before each new show. You can do that in the Million to One Extension Configuration. There will be a 30 minute window before the show begins where Partners and Affiliates can create their team to compete in that night's game.

Where Do Partners or Affiliates Play?

Partners or Affiliates have two options for where they can compete in Million to One.

  • In the Extension Config Page: Get to the extension config on the extension's page here

  • From the Stream Manager dashboard: Once the Million to One extension is activated, a new button will appear in the Quick Actions. This is a direct route to the Million to one extension config.

I'm a Twitch Viewer or am not a Partner or Affiliate

You'll need to find a channel that's streaming Million to One and running the extension in order to play. The overlay extension gives you the interface you need to answer questions to win. You can also compete as an Individual on the Twitch channel for Point Crow here: https://www.twitch.tv/pointcrow. You can also hit the Play for Fun button in onboarding to play along.

Where Do Twitch Viewers Play

Twitch viewers can play in the overlay extension only. Click on the question interface in the overlay to answer and see if you answered right or wrong. If you post the answer in chat, you won't get any points.

Answering Questions

When playing Million to One, you want to be correct and quick! The faster you answer a question, the higher your points multiplier will be.

Playing on Desktop or LaptopWhen playing on desktop or laptop, you can answer directly on the video player via the overlay extension. For multiple choice or true or false question, you simply click on the answer you think is correct. For numeric entry questions, type your answer into the answer field and hit "Enter" to submit your answer.

Playing on Mobile

You can now play Million to One on mobile! To answer multiple choice questions, you just to tap to select then tap again to Submit. For numeric entry, tap your answer into the number pad then hit "Enter" to submit.

How Do I Know My

Score?

For Partner and Individual Teams: We show the Top Twenty team scores at the end of each round on the leaderboards! Partner and Affiliate teams each have their own leaderboards. We show the Final Top Ten after the final round of the game.

For Individuals: We show the Top Ten Individual Scores after the very last round.

Prizing

Million to One has three competition brackets: Partner, Affiliate, and Individuals. For Partners and Affiliates, the top team wins the prizes and the top performing players on their channel get the prizes. For Individuals, the Top 3 players win the prizes. Some weeks have different prizes, so you'll have to tune in to see what you can win!

To play on a team or as an individual for prizes, you need to complete the onboarding and be eligible to play. This means you meet the eligibility requirements and have agreed to the rules and Terms of Service.

How To Play

  1. When Million To One channel is live, enable the extension on and invite your channel to accept and join the extension and join your team! For the full experience, host the game show feed on your own stream so your community can follow along live.

  2. When the countdown expires, the competitors are locked in. Competitors are separated into three brackets, creating opportunity for anyone who joins!

COMPETITION TIERS:

  • PARTNERS: Partners collaborate with their audiences to answer questions correctly and compete against other channels. Partners only compete with other players in the partner tier and their scores appear together in the partner leaderboard in the extension.

  • AFFILIATES: Affiliates collaborate with their audiences to answer questions correctly and compete against other channels. Affiliates only compete with other affiliates in this category.

  • INDIVIDUALS: Everyone competes in the underdog category from broadcaster to viewer. We will be tracking each player’s score who is locked in to compete.

  1. Show starts! Every round will feature questions of increasing difficulty around a shared theme.

  1. At the end of each round, we calculate the round score for Partner and Affiliate channels. The lowest-scoring communities are eliminated from the Partner & Affiliate brackets, and join the Individuals and continue to compete, so you or someone in your chat could still win!

  1. PRIZING! At the end of the show, the surviving Partner & Affiliate Communities win prizes and the winning Individuals are revealed.

What's in the Extension?

If you're a streamer, you're playing in the Extension Configuration. If you're a viewer you're playing in the overlay. In the overlay, you can:

Complete Onboarding for A Game

You can check all the legal, share your Twitch ID and join to play as an Underdog or on a Partner or Affiliate channel's team! After you've joined, you'll receive confirmation for the team you've joined. Once you're locked in to a team, you can't switch teams for the duration of that day's game.

Check Out the Leaderboards

Leaderboards will display the top channels competing that day! The boar populates at the end of the first round of questions and gets updated each round. See if your team is a top scoring channel, went up or down in the leaderboards, and if you're a winner. At the end of the game, you'll also get a notification for what percentile your team ranked in. Did you get top 5% or top 10%? Find out!

Competing as an Individual? You'll see top channel leaderboards at the very end of the game! So even if your team gets eliminated, keep answering questions!

Answer Questions to Compete

In the overlay, the questions show up in the lower third of the screen. You can see the current category, the question, the answers, and the current multiplier. The faster your answer, the higher your multiplier, so answer fast! Get your answer in before the timer runs out to play or just play along for fun. At the end of the timer, you'll see if you answer correctly or incorrectly.

Types of Questions You'll Get
